The Ultimate Buisness Lady – Chapter 47

Chapter 47 LAZING around

The Yun family are one with their own pride. Actually, many people weren’t in favour with regards to the Yunke-shi’s way of handling of things. For instance, Yun residence’s eldest grandson, Yun Qi, who was a scholar with deep pride in his bones. From the start he was against Yun Bo being in touch with those hedonistic young masters from rich households. Yet due to his zumu’s approval, he dared not oppose against it. After all whatever their zumu did, was for their own good.

There was also a martial arts-loving second son of the Yun fu, Yun Yu who also disliked this. He wholeheartedly wanted to speak up for this righteously, but was unsuccessful. He also looked down upon people like Yun Bo thinking that he was losing Yun fu people’s face.

“This being the case why didn’t you return sooner, if you were feeling uncomfortable? Weren’t you aware that zumu and third shen[1] were worried to death?” Yun Yu had a quite straightforward temperament, and was also the simplest and most straightforward person in the entire Yun fu. He was happy when he was happy and was sad when he was sad. One could make out his mind just from a glance. This kind of temperament of his had made his mother, Pei-shi, very much worried.

(shěn):  paternal aunt, father’s brother’s wife

With such a temperament, wouldn’t he end up as a live target in other people’s hands?

Because of this, she and old furen were resolutely against this, and didn’t allow him to go and serve in the military. Unfortunately, Yun Yu was unaware of thoughts his elders and had been depressed.

“Bo’er, your second brother is right, where did you go?” Jiang-shi asked anxiously as she had also thought the same.

Yun Bo held the banknote in his fist tightly, suppressed the emotions in heart, and indifferently replied: “I just went for a walk, nowhere else!”

Not only old furen[2], even Yun Yu and the other people in the room also perceived the change in Yun Bo, thinking he was quite odd today. Even though in the entire Yun fu, Yun Yu had the most straightforward temperament, Yun Bo was also uncapable of concealing the thoughts in his mind. For this very reason he would frequently be at loggerheads with Yun family’s two sisters, just because he simply disliked them.

夫人 (furen): mistress or madam/lady

Yun Bo’s unwillingness to speak out and concealing his worry made everyone helpless. Despite of Jiang-shi asking him again and again, Yin Bo was unwilling to speak, and at the end simply walked away, leaving everyone to look at each other in dismay and anxious.

“This child is really making me worried to death, see if he doesn’t walk in crooked path,” Jiang-shi nagged, with unease in her eyes.

After escaping from all those questions, Yun Bo walked around the residence, with his heart at a loss for a split second, and felt as if those rolled silver banknotes hidden in his sleeves were becoming heavier and heavier, making him nearly unable to breath.

When he saw his mother and zumu, he very much wished to tell everything in his heart, but with so many people, and numerous pair of eyes, he was afraid of facing their disapproval, thus ended up taking a step back.

“The person who was valiant a few moments ago has shrunken just like a bear now, what is he thinking?” Even though Yun Yu disliked Yun Bo being in contact with those people outside, in his heart, they were nevertheless brothers, thus there weren’t many conflicts.

“Second brother.” Yun Bo tilted his head to see his rude, impetuous and somewhat unscrupulous second brother, and suddenly asked: “If zumu continues to oppose you from practicing martial arts and becoming a soldier, then how would you plan to do in this life?” These words were exactly what Yun Lingxuan had asked him.

Doubt flashed in Yun Yu’s eyes, probably he himself wouldn’t have even thought about this question!

“How can I go?” He laughed at himself, and grabbed his hair irritably as he spoke, “Zumu wouldn’t agree. I am not like eldest brother who is fond of literature. In the future I will merely muddle along, eat and wait for death. Anyway, Yun residence can also afford to raise me!” When he spoke these words, Yun Yu was simply upset in his heart, and he just rushed out to grumble a bit, but weren’t his heartfelt words.
